Ruthless and Toothless - fiercely fabulous
Written by Suzanne Catchpole

So what exactly is on offer once an accomplished tattooist becomes a parent? With pastel rompers and neutral nurseries probably being far from appealing, a group of tattoo artists has set about creating a range for babies and children that reflects the lifestyles and tastes of their parents (who regard the body as the ultimate artistic canvas!).
Ruthless and Toothless is far from a shallow dip into wearable artistry. There's a philosophy of skill-sharing and inspiring youngsters who may have a leaning towards tatoo-style art - formerly much maligned but now a legitimate artform gaining respect and adulation around the globe.
The site offers video drawing tutorials for kids to get them started, as well as printable colouring sheets for kids to play around with colour or create their own schemes. As a teacher, I often avoid mindless colouring books for kids, but here I can see real value as there is definite skill involved in colour combining for specific genres of art. Finally a colouring-in task that can be educational! See the Kids Page for printables and videos.
Now to the clothing which I find extremely beautiful and definitely a style my family could embrace. The bird dress takes my breath away and that black and white onesie thrills me senseless. My four year old loves the dragon onesie and for once, they make them in sizes to fit my youngest boy who is huge - the largest size in a onesie is 18-24 months! At US$32.99 they are well priced so you can kit them out in head to toe R and T. Also available are beanies, hoodies, tank tops and dresses, none of which will break the bank.
Ruthless and Toothless ships worldwide and is fairly new so you'll need to check the site regularly for additions to the range and new tutorials for the kids.
This concept has really captured my imagination as I'm always on the lookout for edgy boys fashion. I think I'd faint dead away with bliss if I received that awesome baby shower box full of gear!
Tattoo-inspired streetwear for babies and kids, plus the coolest colouring sheets imaginable with a step-by-step art tutorial for children to follow, and it's far from your usual kid-centered label.

If you're on Facebook, they're offering subscribers a 20 per cent discount on any order. Do a quick search for them there to get the code.
I notice they are branching out into stunning wallpapers, art prints and iPhone covers, all available soon. I just love the Gypsy Faces design - so perfect and pretty, yet totally edgy.
The first of the promised art tutorials for kids is up. It's called 'How to draw Koi Fish' and there are five parts. Here is the first part:
